The faculty members of the Department of Physiology direct their own independent research programs. They are responsible for supervising the research training of postdoctoral fellows and graduate students.
In addition to their research activities, faculty members are also responsible for teaching medical and graduate students through the
- Walter S. and Lucienne Driskill Graduate Training Program in Life Sciences
- Northwestern University Interdepartmental Neurosciences (NUIN) Program
- Biomedical Engineering at the McCormick School of Engineering and Applied Science
Research training efforts are supported by several interdepartmental NIH training grants, which support the training of both pre-doctoral and postdoctoral students.
The Department of Physiology hosts weekly seminars during the academic year. View upcoming events.
The department also partners with the NUIN on a lecture series of Northwestern and external experts on topics in neuroscience. Webcasts of past lectures are available to view online for Northwestern University staff, faculty, and students.
